Welcome to the BHA

On behalf of everyone at the association, I would like to welcome you to our webpage. We are a new body of historians with the primary purpose of contributing to and furthering British historical knowledge. We offer competitive fellowships to budding historians, allowing them to post their own articles in whichever field they would like. We also have a membership program open to anyone who may be interested which will give you exclusive access to a number of programs and events

What we do

At the British History Association, we firmly believe that the study of history is essential to understanding the present and shaping the future. To this end, we organize a range of events and activities that bring history to life for people of all ages and backgrounds. From lectures and talks by renowned historians to guided tours of historical sites, we offer a diverse range of experiences that cater to different interests.

We also recognize the importance of research in advancing our understanding of British history. Our organization supports research projects and provides funding to scholars who are exploring new areas of inquiry or shedding new light on existing ones. By facilitating research, we hope to contribute to the ongoing process of discovering and preserving our shared heritage.

We aim to make the study of British history accessible to all. We believe that history should be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. That is why we work with schools, community organizations, and other groups to bring the past to life in new and engaging ways.

Whether you are a professional historian or simply someone with a love for all things British, we invite you to join us at the British History Association. Together, we can help preserve and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Great Britain for generations to come.

About our Discussion page:

In addition to our other goals, we host what we hope will become one of Britain's greatest historical conversations. Using Google Groups we have created a forum in which historians can come together to discuss anything relating to history. A modern-day Republic of Letters if you will. To find this please visit the Discussions page on the website. We believe that fostering a community of scholars and enthusiasts who are passionate about British history is crucial to our mission. By creating a space where people can share ideas, ask questions, and engage in lively debates, we hope to spark new insights and inspire further research.

Our online forum is just one of the ways in which we encourage dialogue and collaboration. We also organize conferences, workshops, and other events that bring people together to explore different aspects of British history. These gatherings provide an opportunity for scholars to present their research and for attendees to learn from each other.

At the British History Association, we are committed to making history an inclusive and dynamic field. We welcome members from all backgrounds and encourage diversity in our programs and initiatives. By working together, we can deepen our understanding of the past and use that knowledge to shape a better future.
